After realizing that Warren Buffet and I share the same Myers-Briggs personality type (ISTJ), I started reading more on him and found this great passage on his Wikipedia page.
The following quotation from 1988 highlights Warren Buffett’s thoughts on his wealth and why he long planned to re-allocate it:
“I don’t have a problem with guilt about money. The way I see it is that my money...
I had an epiphany last night, and an idea I’d love to pursue my senior year when I get back from Beijing - creating an online, youth-oriented business magazine. I realized that I enjoy following publications such as the WSJ, Forbes, Inc Magazine, etc., but there’s a lack of online business content specifically geared towards the interests and mindsets of young people - say in high...
So in order to meet 15 units for my study abroad requirement, it turns out that I have to take six classes (!) because all of the classes at Peking University are worth either 2 or 3 units. Here’s the classes I want to take:

Calling all Asian Guys in College
If you are an Asian guy and are in college, we are looking to feature you in an upcoming article for Mochi Magazine (www.mochimag.com). All I need from you is your favorite pickup line - either one that you’ve used successfully, or one that you like - along with your first name, age, college, and a high-quality photo of you.

Leaving home in 2 days. I won’t be back in Hawaii for a year - my semester ends late in China, and I have to start my internship in LA right away and work up until school starts. I’ll miss these islands, but this entire break has felt rather empty. I think my heart and mind are already in LA and China.
The idea of being gone in a foreign country for 4 months both scares and excites...
One cool thing about going to a cold place: winter clothes shopping! :)
I just bought myself the first pair of boots I’ve ever owned in my life. I like them a lot and will hopefully put them to good use! I also ordered the cutest black peacoat online (yay for winter coat sales). Next I need to find myself a really good down jacket - anyone have suggestions of places I should go to find one?...

I highly recommend reading this essay if you want to learn how to write clearly and effectively. Below are a few excerpts:
A common mistake in “bad writing” (Orwell names three others: verbal false limbs, pretentious diction, and meaningless words)
DYING METAPHORS. A newly invented metaphor assists thought by evoking a visual image, while on the other hand a metaphor which is...
My Chinese teacher from high school just sent me the cutest message on Facebook after I wished her a happy birthday and told her I’d be in China this spring. I love how she always makes faces like :>)!
THANK YOU!! MISS YA! Yes, we’ll treat you in Shanghai or Beijing!!!! We’ll be there, I think, in all the April.:>) Yeaaaaah! As for my birthday and my husband’s...
Do you know someone very inspiring that is under the age of 25?
We’re currently brainstorming for our upcoming Youth-themed issue for Mochi Magazine, where we’re looking to profile 25 people under the age of 25. If you guys have any suggestions of people that you know personally that you think should be recognized for their outstanding achievements, shoot me an e-mail at...

Rediscovered an essay I wrote from freshman year for my East Asian Film class on satire and social commentary in the Japanese film Battle Royale and the Korean film Save the Green Planet!, and actually thoroughly enjoyed re-reading it…I forgot how much I enjoyed that class. And wow, I have definitely lost my ability to write...
I have some exciting news to share - I was offered a job a few days ago as a Communications Intern at the American Chamber of Commerce in Beijing! I initially applied for a position as a Government Relations Intern, but I got a call from the people there asking if I would be interested in a communications position instead due to my resume and past editorial experience. I figured, why not?
The...
